Endowed Chairs - Open Nominations
In consultation with the Steering Committee, the A&S Dean has proposed a process, agreed to by the Provost, for an internal appointment to the E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Chair in the Liberal Arts and the second Tucker-Boatwright Professorship in the Humanities.
Any full professors in the School of Arts & Sciences to nominate themselves. Associate professors currently under review (AY 22/23) for promotion to full professor may also self-nominate.
Nominations will be due January 30, 2023 at 11:59 p.m., and will be shared with an ad hoc advisory committee of current or former endowed chairs. The committee will share their assessment of the strengths of each nominee with the A&S Dean by March 1, 2023. The A&S Dean will then make a recommendation to the Provost who will make the official appointment.
Nomination materials should include:
- an updated CV,
- a brief statement that includes evidence of excellence in teaching, research/scholarship, and service; and
- a plan for teaching and research for the next six years.
